GIZ/AGAM and Ghana Ambulance Service organize Basic Life Support (BLS) & First Aid Training

The Basic Life Support (BLS) & First Aid Training was a comprehensive two-day workshop organized by GIZ and facilitated by the Ghana National Ambulance Service (GNAS).

It was held at the Teachers Hall in Accra,

The sessions saw participation from thirteen factories, including ten member factories namely, Sixteen47 Ghana Limited, Damaris & Garments, KAD Manufacturing Limited, Charisma Fashions Limited, Unijay Limited, Jem Afrik Creations, Fashion’s Wadata Enterprise Limited, Maagrace Garment Industries Limited, New Havenn Garments Limited and Sleek Garments Export Limited and two non-member factories (Lifestyle Company and World Shoe Ltd, invited by GIZ).

Day One:

Pre-Test: The session began with a test designed to engage participants and assess their initial knowledge.

Training Content: Facilitators covered essential topics such as Basic First Aid Principles, Ambulance Service Regulations, and the pros and cons of First Aid.

Practical Demonstrations: Participants learned to identify signs that require life support and practiced administering CPR and other basic life support techniques.

Day Two:

Advanced Topics: The second day focused on Heart-Related Conditions, Stress Management, Respiratory Emergencies, and Factory Injury Management.

Hands-On Practice: Participants engaged in practical exercises on how to handle choking, heat burns, and other emergencies.

Post-Test:
Another test was conducted, with certificates promised for those who successfully passed.

Closing Remarks were from GIZ, Ambulance Service, and AGAM:

AGAM acknowledged GIZ for their continuous support and role in the growth of AGAM. Also, AGAM commended GNAS for their impactful and insightful knowledge transferred to the participants in the training.

AGAM again, expressed gratitude to all member factory representatives for their active participation and thoughtful questions, emphasizing their readiness to implement the training insights.
